Recycled Glass Blends with Recycled Concrete Aggregates in Sustainable Railway Geotechnics

This research investigates the static and cyclic characteristics of recycled glass (RG) as a supplementary material with concrete aggregate (RCA) in rail track capping layer. RG was blended by-weight RCA 10% increments up to 50% content. A performance-based laboratory testing scheme designed according field loading conditions layers tracks. Basic geotechnical properties + blends were evaluated through their particle size distribution, compaction properties, California bearing ratio. Effect flooding assessed one-dimensional compression tests. Multistage triaxial tests performed determine effect content on shear strength parameters. new repeated protocol introduced for railway layer materials assess stiffness loading. Long term performance samples also multistage permanent deformation The shakedown concept used results samples. Results indicated that can be effectively geomaterial construction substructure.
