Recycled Glass Blends with Recycled Concrete Aggregates in Sustainable Railway Geotechnics

This research investigates the static and cyclic characteristics of recycled glass (RG) as a supplementary material with concrete aggregate (RCA) in rail track capping layer. RG was blended by-weight RCA 10% increments up to 50% content. A performance-based laboratory testing scheme designed according field loading conditions layers tracks. Basic geotechnical properties + blends were evaluated through their particle size distribution, compaction properties, California bearing ratio. Effect flooding assessed one-dimensional compression tests. Multistage triaxial tests performed determine effect content on shear strength parameters. new repeated protocol introduced for railway layer materials assess stiffness loading.
